Since the launch of the ABC Study at the Maroondah Relay last year, we continue to work closely with Relay for Life to let people know about the study. In 2014/2015 we attended relays in Warrnambool, Horsham, Hawthorn, Geelong, Knox, Diamond Valley, Albert Park and Wyndham. Most events also included an ‘ABC Lap’ where we handed out UV sensitive drink bottles, some of which have already been spotted around town.
Our Project Manager, Theresa Whalen was lucky enough to attend the Canberra Relay for Life, one of the biggest in the country. This event exceeded our expectations and generated a lot of interest in the study, including a follow-up radio interview across Canberra.
Planning for season two is already underway and we are excited to build on the great response we have had so far. We will even field a team at 'Bark for Life' in Melbourne in October, including our wonderful dogs.
Attending the relays is always an inspirational experience for the ABC Study staff. It is amazing to see so many passionate people dedicated to a great cause.
