The ABC Study needs 50,000 participants and, ideally, 25,000 of these will be males. But while 18,000 people have already registered to take part, only 15% of them are males. It is important that the study is representative of the Australian population, so we need it to be closer to 50%. We need your help to encourage the men of Australia to take part!

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare reported that in 2011, there were 118,711 new cases of cancer diagnosed in Australia. Of these, 67,117 were male and 51,594 were female. This means that for every 100 females diagnosed with cancer, 114 males are diagnosed. In order to ensure that findings from the study apply to males, as well as females we need to increase the number of males in the study.
