A number of ABC Study participants are being invited to take part in a new study investigating the effects on health of physical activity and prolonged sitting.
The study is managed by Dr. Brigid Lynch of Cancer Council Victoria, and aims to collect data on how much time people spend reclining, sitting or moving. This information will allow researchers to examine how activity patterns affect health outcomes, such as cancer, cardio-vascular disease or diabetes.
Participation will involve two short telephone interviews and wearing two small activity monitors for seven days. The study recently launched and several participants are already taking part. Those who are selected to participate will be notified by email and/ or telephone.
