Is it too late for me to return my sample?

If you have been sent a faecal sample kit with a Reply Paid envelope, then you are welcome to return that sample. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept any blood samples as the collection of these has ended.

Will I receive individual results from the ABC Study?

No, you will not receive individualised results from the ABC Study. Since the ABC Study is a long-term project, sample analysis may not occur for several years.

However, it's possible for the research to find results that could have important health implications for you or your family. These results are only found in a small number of people. If the researchers were to come across results that could have important health implications for you or your family, we would contact you, or the members of your family affected by the information and offer access to the information. You, or your family members will be able to choose whether or not you would like to know the results.

For more details, please refer to the Participant Information Sheet.

Participation in the study should not alter your use of routine health care or health screenings in any way.

How will I be informed about discoveries and research findings from the ABC Study?

Research discoveries from the ABC Study will be published in scientific journals and made available online. These findings will be shared on the ABC Study website, and participants will be notified through our newsletter. Any information included in publications will be de-identified and your identity and personal information will remain confidential.

As the ABC Study is a long-term project, it may take several years before significant findings are released. We appreciate your patience and will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
